Job Title Staff Android Software Engineer What does a successful Staff Android Software Engineer do at Fiserv? Join Fiserv's Point of Sale team, where you'll play a key role in shaping the user experience on Clover POS devices used by businesses around the world. As a Staff Android Software Engineer, you'll help build the apps merchants rely on daily, covering everything from order management to inventory, while also developing APIs that empower third-party developers to create powerful, customized solutions. This is your chance to work on high-impact products with a collaborative, fast-moving team. What you will do: You'll develop native Android applications that power core merchant experiences on our Clover POS devices. You'll collaborate with Product Managers and UX designers to shape and refine app features and user flows. You'll partner with QA to create solid test plans that ensure our features work flawlessly. You'll participate in design and code reviews, helping us maintain quality and share knowledge. You'll strengthen our apps by fixing bugs found by internal teams and field support. You'll contribute to our on-call rotation, jumping in to address customer issues when needed. You'll build tests and automation to improve how we validate and maintain our products. You'll take ownership of complex features, from concept through delivery, and support junior engineers with guidance and best practices. What you will need to have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field. 8+ years of professional Android development experience. Proven ability to implement Android software design patterns and application architecture. Strong proficiency in both Java and Kotlin. Solid understanding of database concepts and experience writing SQL. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. What would be great to have: Experience with server-side development and building RESTful APIs. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Kibana, Grafana, or Wavefront.
