Your Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Promote a Positive Work Environment: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes and foster a supportive team atmosphere.
  • Educate and Mentor: Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents, guiding them through clinical patient care rotations.
  • Ensure Quality Care: Conduct thorough medication regimen reviews, providing patient-specific drug information and managing drug therapy for maximum effectiveness.
  • Participate in Quality Initiatives: Engage in medication use evaluations, adverse drug reaction reporting, and contribute to quality improvement programs.
  • Drive Financial Responsibility: Uphold pharmacoeconomic standards and manage time effectively to prioritize tasks.
  • Innovate and Grow: Present educational programs, participate in research projects, and continuously seek opportunities for professional development.

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Education: A graduate of an accredited pharmacy program.
  • Experience: One of the following:
    • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent experience (3 years of pharmacy experience per residency year); PGY2 or fellowship preferred.
    • Three years of clinical practice experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • Texas Pharmacist License (or eligible within 90 days).
    • Pharmacist Preceptor Certification (within 90 days).
    • ACLS, PALS, NRP, IV Certification, and BLS (as applicable, within 90 days).

Working Conditions

As a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist, you will:

  • Work in a collaborative and innovative healthcare environment.
  • Be required to be on-call during emergencies.
  • Possibly travel within and outside the Houston Metropolitan area.
