Job Description

The Group Director of Sales position will provide leadership and sales management for new business development and account management within an identified sales territory. The incumbent will be accountable for developing, managing, and executing a multi-level sales plan to attain revenue growth and business retention goals.

Essential Functions

  1. Direct, manage, and develop 15 sales professionals to achieve sales and retention goals. Plan, organize, and lead efforts for short and long-term growth.
  2. Develop and implement strategic and tactical marketing initiatives for the territory.
  3. Lead processes to retain and grow current customers.
  4. Interface with customers and prospects to maximize opportunities across Ryder's products and services.
  5. Understand competitor strengths and weaknesses and manage competitive strategies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of financial elements (preferred).
  • Expertise in transportation and food industry principles (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Ryder software/tools (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Ryder's sales process and products (preferred).
  • Key competencies: Motivating/Directing Others, Drive for Results, Customer Focus, Business Acumen, Managing Vision and Purpose (preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Transportation, or related field.
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • At least 7 years of successful sales management experience, including strategic analysis and negotiation skills.
  • This role supports our CPG vertical within the Supply Chain Solutions business unit.
