Job Description

MATERIAL HANDLER

Contract: 6 weeks - possible extensions

Compensation: $21/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (no weekends)

Onboarding Requirements: Background check and drug screening

Job Summary

The Material Handler supports internal and external customers by ensuring accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials. This role involves operating material handling equipment and performing tasks such as receiving, running production lines, and shipping at the assigned operations facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

( Note: Other duties may be assigned as needed. )

  • Material Handling:
  • Locate and pull materials/supplies as per production or sales orders.
  • Stock production areas to maintain inventory levels.
  • Verify parts and quantities accurately and complete Bills of Lading (BOLs) for receiving or shipping.
  • Equipment Operation:
  • Operate all assigned material handling equipment (e.g., stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, combis, tuggers).
  • Workplace Safety and Cleanliness:
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety procedures and 6S standards.
  • Operate material support equipment safely and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience with material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, tugger) and inventory management in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Six (6) months of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Strong multitasking skills and adaptability to dynamic environments.
  • Familiarity with warehouse technology or electronics.
  • Experience with shipping confirmation processes.

Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands:
  • Frequent: Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, hearing, talking, typing.
  • Occasional: Climbing, driving, bending/kneeling, lifting/pulling up to 25 lbs.
  • Non-Physical Demands:
  • Occasional: Analysis, problem-solving, sustained mental activity (e.g., auditing, report writing).
  • Environmental Demands:
  • Occasional: Work alone, frequent task changes, dust, temperature extremes, loud noises.
  • Work Schedule:
  • Routine weekday shifts with infrequent overtime or weekend work.
  • Deadlines:
  • Occasional stress due to deadlines or cyclical work pressures.
