Responsibilities include researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. The Consultant assists with verification processes from taxing authorities and aims to create positive team member experiences, leading to excellent client service and driving revenue and profit for the Firm. The ideal candidate will have analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong people skills. They should be effective in researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities People: Create a positive team member experience. Client: Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities. Value: Work effectively with clients and taxing authorities on a national basis. Attend client meetings and property inspections. Review client property tax records. Utilize software knowledge to work efficiently with client data. Research tax issues. Prepare and review property reports and renditions. Analyze assessment notices and identify potential assessment reductions. File appeals. Determine liability for development projects. Address tax incentive issues for clients. Engage regularly with team members. Communicate effectively via written and verbal channels. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Business Computer Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Public Administration, Real Estate, or related fields, with a Master’s in Business Discipline or JD preferred. Minimum 6 hours in Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or Finance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher; Major GPA of 3.25 or higher. Relevant work experience preferred (e.g., internships, summer jobs, school jobs) or a Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of audit or tax-related experience. Strong desire to perform in a high-energy team environment. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and handle ambiguity. Ability to work independently and collaboratively at all levels. Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet research is required. Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license required. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Standard indoor environment. Occasional long periods of sitting at a computer. Regular interaction with employees, clients, and external vendors via in-person, email, and telephone communication. Travel up to 10-20% required.
