Airport Armed Security Officer

Easterwood Airport Management is seeking a highly motivated and security-minded individual to join our team as a full-time Security Specialist! This dynamic role offers the opportunity to make a real difference, with variable hours in 8-12 hour shifts. We require flexibility, as you'll be expected to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays if scheduled. In this role, you'll be a vital member of our team, delivering exceptional service to our passengers and staff with a high level of enthusiasm, integrity, and accuracy.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses a valid Level III Armed Texas DPS Private Security License.
  • Passes an MPPI administered by a licensed professional.
  • Demonstrates strong moral character and ethical standards.
  • Has proven experience working effectively with the public.
  • Is committed to providing exceptional customer service with professionalism.
  • Is open to new ideas and methods for improving security services.
  • Has the ability to take initiative and assume responsibility within established guidelines.
  • Offers flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Maintains a neat, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Is capable of handling routine and emergency situations efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities (Dependent Upon Career Level):

  • Patrol buildings and grounds to ensure security, checking for suspicious activity, unlocked doors, and adherence of TSA rules and regulations.
  • Report all irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity to the proper authorities and security supervisor.
  • Provide information and assistance to tenants, the public, and employees, or direct inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a high-profile presence to deter criminal activity.
  • Prepare regular activity reports, comprehensive reports, and daily logs.
  • Monitor CCTV and other security equipment for signs of suspicious activity or Airport Security Program violations.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Utilize critical thinking and sound judgment in all situations.
  • Possesses basic computer and smartphone skills for reporting and communication.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Must be physically able to move about the airport property on a regular basis.
    • Be prepared for occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
    • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
    • Use of personal protective gear may be required.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Must pass a background check meeting the standards of both TSA and the Texas Department of Public Safety (no disqualifying offenses).
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years old.
    • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience (preferred):
    • Prior security employment or military service.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and be able to maintain insurability under the Airport's Vehicle Insurance policy.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
